HomeBank is a powerful and feature-rich personal finance management program that will help you manage and track your accounts and budgets. Despite being a comprehensive and effective application, HomeBank can also be used completely for free, as it's open-source too. Furthermore, HomeBank makes it easy to switch from more expensive and intricate financing applications like Intuit Quicken or Microsoft Money as it supports importing the data from such tools. In other words, it can handle specific files like OFX, QIF, CSV, QFX, and so on.
Although it's really feature-rich, HomeBank is also easy to use. Its interface is neat, straightforward and intuitive, allowing even complete beginners to find their way around. Moreover, there are features that streamline the usage of this cool tool considerably, such as the duplicate transaction detection function or the automatic cheque numbering. It also allows you to create and track multiple accounts of various types: bank, cash, credit card, liability, etc., each with preset details that include an initial and minimum balance. The transactions can be scheduled with recurrence included and easily categorized by their types.
Another remarkable features are the editable budgets, the numerous reports and charts, the transaction reminders, and many others. Cutting the long story short, HomeBank manages to be both feature-rich and easy to use. Since it's also completely free, it gets my unhesitating recommendation as well.
